Launch Day Dreams – Giveaway!

“You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” ― Dr. Seuss

Bookshelf On the shelves at LifeWay Christian Stores – July 4th Ever have one of those dreams where it’s so amazing, you don’t want to wake up?  I’ve had them before… One where I was strolling around Paris like I owned the city. Another where I was relaxing on a beach while I wiggled my toes in the warm sand. And still another when I was best friends with an iconic movie star – Audrey Hepburn! It’s dreams like these that you just don’t want to wake up from. But here’s where life gets really good. Here’s where the nighttime dreams and the reality of being awake overlap. They blend and with complete joy, you realize that you can’t tell them apart. You’re gleeful. In denial maybe? Grateful. Excited! Stunned that the dream is real. You pinch yourself – once. Twice. You shake your head several times and ask, “Am I awake? Is this real?” I have old friends that tell me I always talked about being an author. At a July 4th cookout, my cousin said this same thing; the younger version of me always talked about becoming a Christian author. Apparently, I’ve had this dream for so long that it’s become part of who I am – so much that I hadn’t even realized it. So with JOY — screaming with glee and shouting praises to heaven — I thank you for sharing this very special day with me! The launch of my first book is a dream come true… and I’m so glad you’re here to celebrate it with our family. Scroll The BEST Day!

I’m curious — since we’re talking about dreams, what’s yours? If you had one wish, one dream that would blend over into reality… what would it be?

I’m running a giveaway for a SIGNED COPY of The Butterfly and the Violin.

  1. My dream, to have my children together all in one place again ~ with work schedules and distances, it happens individually. So thankful for them. We have retired and moved within a long day’s drive to each of them in three states. So enjoy visiting them! An opportunity we didn’t have when we too were working and distances! Love to you, Kristy. I already have my favorite quotes:
The Butterfly and the Violin: A Hidden Masterpiece Novel ~ p45, “It was a difficult situation, no doubt. Having heard a bit of the backstory helped her make some sense of it all. But that was where Sera’s compassion fizzled. This man was a stranger, yet he possessed the ability to stare straight through her.” ~ p66, “A fluttering memory whispered to her heart, reminding her of the God to whom she hadn’t turned for so long. She’d breathed out a thank-you to Him when the painting had shown up in her gallery. But the realization now that Sera wanted the openness with God again––well, it surprised even her.”
I would love to win a signed copy! Blessings to you. Kathleen ~ Lane Hill House

  2. My dream that I don’t really have control over would be to find my Prince Charming…or him to find me and t have the family I’ve always wanted….somewhere I feel I belong.

The dream I have more control over would be to own my own and run my own non profit organization. 😀

Thank you for asking this question because both dreams made me smile for different reasons. 🙂

  3. I know this doesn’t sound like much, because almost everyone does this…but I would like to retire from the rat race, live a simple life just gardening, working on my craft projects, experimenting with new recipes, and reading. I worked for 23 years in a corporate environment, and when the company ceased operations, my retirement was reduced to a few thousand dollars through mismanagement and bad investments. It was just enough to have my daughter’s jaw rewired and buy a pair of hearing aids for my husband. I have been self employed for the last 28 years, and have no retirement funds or savings. I have made enough to scrape by and support my daughter, but my husband died with loads of debts. I will probably be paying these off until I die, so I have to keep working.

  4. Congratulations, Kristy! I am so excited for you! I know I already have a copy, but I’m entering the giveaway because I’d love a signed copy 😉 Then I can share the other with a friend.

My dream is to work in publishing. 🙂

    1. HI Cassie ~ Hmm… Kindred spirits we are! I have the same dream. And whenever/however we meet in person, I WILL sign for you. It would be a pleasure and an honor. HUGS to you, my friend!!!!

  5. Kristy….Congrats on your beautiful books! Love the cover art! One dream is kind of hard to nail down. I guess my greatest dream is to see my children come to know Christ, and so right now I want to pour my life in them during these impressionable years. I really enjoy blogging and writing as well, so I would love to see both of those areas in my life grow and develop : ). Thanks for the giveaway!

    1. What’s your blog? I’ll follow! Same message to you, lady: Keep writing! Don’t give up. Follow Jesus, every step of the way, and work hard to grab that writing dream. It really is out there! : ) We’re all here to encourage you on the path to publication. (And join the ACFW – they will really help get you networked, find friends, pitch your work, learn about writing…)
      Best wishes!

  6. One of the regrets of my life is that I have not really had any dreams. They weren’t encouraged or fostered in my growing up years. Now, in my 60’s, I read & dream vicariously through others.

    1. Linda – My Momma is in her 60s and she’s also named Linda! You both have dreams available to you. (It’s been a dream of mine just to meet readers – that’s why I am answering every comment here!) Prayers for you, my friend, and for what Jesus has yet planned for you!

  7. My dream is also to publish a book. I’ve been writing, but a long way to go before it could even come close to becoming anything more.

    1. Laura ~ Keep at it, girl. I keep saying it over and over, but it’s really true. This dream was more than a decade in the making, Check out the ACFW if you haven’t already, and get connected in the industry. That’s where it starts! Here’s to your journey… 🙂

    1. Natalie – Thanks for stopping by! If you want to be an author, keep at it. Pray and work hard, and you’ll find that God can (and will) be there to help you. As for being a writer… you probably already are one! If you write, you’re a writer. Welcome to the club, lady! ; ) Stop by here again and let us know how you’re doing.

    1. HI Sharon – You’re speaking to my heart! I have three sons and I’m feeling the same things for them. It’s such a glorious thing to be a Mom, but your heart sure aches for them. We’re all praying for you!

  8. No thought really required here. As a 20-year breast cancer survivor, my dream come true would be to see cancer totally eradicated from the face of the earth!

Congratulations on your new release. I look forward to reading it.

  9. Congratulations on your new book and seeing your dream become reality!
I’m actually still finding my dream. I know I want to be a writer, but of what I still don’t know. I’m actually thinking about a devotional right now, but I don’t even know how to begin (any advice is appreciated), so I’m praying and waiting for God’s leading. I know that in order for it to succeed, He will have to lead the way and open doors for me. 🙂
I can’t wait to read your book! It sounds wonderful and the cover is gorgeous! Congratulations, again!
    Blessings,
    ~Sarah

    1. Blessings, Sarah! Pray about where God wants you in this writing world. If the dream’s been laid on your heart – as in, it just will not go away – do everything to pursue it. 🙂 Stop by here and we’ll encourage you in it! Hugs~

  10. Congrats, dear friend! Enjoy this wonderful day! 🙂 I’ve achieved my dream of being published. Now I’m working on keeping that dream alive.

  11. My dream is much like yours, something I’ve talked and dreamed about all my life, to be a published author. Growing up I used to tell my sisters stories before we fell asleep, and after that I had notebooks just full of story ideas, some I still have. Whether it happens or not, I’ll always keep dreaming. 🙂

    1. My advice: keep this dream alive and work to reach it! Nothing is impossible with God. Keep going, girl! We are cheering you on!!! Go get your dream! 🙂 (P.S. I did the SAME thing when I was young. I’ve been telling people about my dream for YEARS!) Ha ha! Hugs~

    1. Beautiful!!! A dream that’s come true – Praise Jesus! What’s your sweet baby girl’s name? I have several friends who are going through the adoption process now. It’s such a wonderful gift!

  12. My dream is that there would be no more suicides…no more heartache of loss & sorrows. That one day I will see my Savior & ask Him why & why not.

    1. Mary – I read this yesterday and wondered if suicide had touched your life somehow. It’s a dream, of course, that it would touch no one. Loss really hurts, I know. I lost my Dad to leukemia last year and I’m still praying my way through it. Everyone here will be praying for you – including that you have peace and grace straight from Jesus. Hugs, my friend.

    1. And blessings to you with yours, my friend! Thanks for the prayers, smiles, dreaming together for the last couple of years… and for your friendship! ❤ you!

  13. I have been anxiously awaiting the release of The Butterfly and the Violin since the first time I saw the beautiful cover.
For me, my dream come true would be for my husband and children to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

    1. My – what a dream! This is what is at the heart of everything Christian authors write, everything we feel and hope for our readers. I’d love it if everyone here would commit to pray for your husband and children to know Jesus. I wish I could do more than send you a virtual hug right now! We’ll keep praying, okay? Thanks for stopping by.

    1. Amber – How amazing. Your dream aligns with Adele’s story – that there could be something of beauty in a world with such horrors. We all pray this, and your dream for it is truly humbling. Have you seen the “red X campaign” regarding this? I’m going to take a photo and join that next year.

    1. Hi Claudia – Are you a librarian or a teacher? This is such a beautiful dream! Keep inspiring others to read! ; ) (P.S. I wish I could hug you. This is awesome!)

  14. HAPPY RELEASE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m giving a test here. And reading this is making me cry! You’re not supposed to make me cry in front of my students!

I’m so stinkin’ happy for you. So stinkin’ proud of you. /blinks rapidly/

Can’t wait to see you in September! Love you!

    1. Hi Gabrielle ~ I love your dream! ; ) It was/is mine as well. Kindred spirits, yes? I’ve attached a link to my blog roll – check out Rachelle Gardner.com, MichaelHyatt.com and some of the authors’ blogs on this list. They’d be great places to start. Also – look in to joining the ACFW. It was the turning point for me. Best wishes!! https://kristycambron.com/blog-roll/

  15. Congrats on your release, Kristy! Your book looks amazing, and I can’t wait to read it!

I think that my dream come true would be to own a bakery. I think that would be awesome, and lots of fun. =)

Thanks for the great giveaway! Oh, and I love the verse at the top of your site… it’s one of my favorites!

    God bless!

    1. Hi Elyssa ~ I just posted a question to my Facebook Author page this morning… I need a good chocolate chip cookie recipe. Got one you could share – or is it a trade secret? ; ) I want to visit your bakery! Let me know when it opens??? Blessings to you too!

  16. The one dream I have is to open a lending library/coffeehouse someday to share my love of reading and coffee!!! Thanks for the chance to win your debut novel. It sounds absolutely wonderful. I love the title and the cover. Continued blessings for you!

    1. Where will you open shop? Seriously – I want to work there. My favorite food = coffee. Favorite hobby/profession = books. I LOVE this idea!!! Your dream ROCKS! ; )

  17. I loved The Butterfly & the Violin. I’ll be reviewing it on my blog next week, complete with a few graphics of my favorite quotes. Even tho’ I have a copy of the book, I’m going to enter your giveaway anyway! I have a feeling this book will be popular with my students in the fall 🙂

Thanks for sharing your beautiful story with us. Blessings, Kristy!

    1. Renee – You are awesome, Girl! I can’t wait to read it! Please let me know when you post it and I’ll be there to chat with your readers. And if your students will be reading… I’m overjoyed! A Christ-centered books in the hands of youngsters makes my heart sing!
