Video Cafe – Coffee Break & #Giveaway with Andrea Boeshaar

1Bonjour, Friends ~ Welcome back to the Video Café for our first coffee break of the Christmas season! I’m pleased to welcome first-time guest and author, Andrea Boeshaar.  (As usual – stick around to the end of the coffee break for our usual #Giveaway…)

If you’re new to the Video Café, Click HERE to see what it’s all about. But if you’ve been here before, you know how it works. Grab your cuppa — let’s spend some time with Andrea!

BONJOUR — Welcome to the Café, Andrea! We’re so glad to welcome you as a first time guest. So tell us – where’s your cafe today and just what are you drinking?

What a gorgeous cafe scene! It’s our first Christmas tree of the season. 🙂

Would you mind to lead us in a short devotion? What does the season mean to you, and what Scripture is really speaking to your heart?

What a beautiful tribute to your friend. It’s important to note that the holidays are beautiful – but the memories and the “missing” can be difficult at this time of year. (I know we miss my Dad more at Christmas, it seems.) I think we’re all grateful that you had such a friend – and prayer warrior – in your life. And yes, it can be a painful time of year. We’re wrapping you in a warm hug, Andrea!

Because we’re here for a mutual love of Christ, coffee – and books! – can you share a little something with us? We’d love to know — whats your favorite book?

Ahhhhh! So many of us love that author — and likely have read and enjoyed that book too.

Since we’re talking books… Can you tell us more about your latest historical novel, A Thousand Shall Fall? (And really — look at that gorgeous cover!)

We love to have authors come back and visit in the cafe with each new release. Can you tell us what’s up next for you, because we’d love to hear your news and have you back again soon!

Merry Christmas, lady! I’ve loved having you as a guest – sipping that tea by the Christmas tree. 🙂 Please visit again soon, and take care in this season and all through the new year.

2Over the years, Andrea Boeshaar has written books for such publishers as Summerside Press, Guideposts, Charisma House/Realms, and Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas. Andrea’s latest novel–her 30th book–is titled A Thousand Shall Fall. Set in 1864 during the American Civil War.

In 2000, Andrea co-founded ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) with author Lynn Coleman and served on the organization’s advisory board for a number of years. Although no longer in leadership, Andrea maintains her membership in the organization and her local ACFW-WISE chapter. And in 2007, Andrea realized she was more of a coach than literary agent. She earned her certification in Christian life coaching. Now she is the purveyor of Steeple View Coaching for Writers. Recognizing one of her client’s gifts and potential, Andrea wrote a novella with debut author Christina Miller called “One Way to the Altar” (Convenient Brides Collection). The anthology made its way to #15 on the ECPA’s Bestseller List for August.

Andrea Boeshaar has been married for nearly 40 years. She and her husband have 3 wonderful sons, 1 beautiful daughter-in-law, and 5 precious grandchildren.

Andrea is pleased to offer a copy of A Thousand Shall Fall to one reader in the cafe. This Giveaway is for US residents only, and runs from 12/11/15 – 12/17/15. Enter by adding a comment to answer this question (during the giveaway dates):

  • Andrea gave a beautiful tribute to her dear friend, Jeannie, whom she thinks about often at this time of year. What memories come back to mind at Christmastime? Who’s made a lasting impact on your life?

We’ll draw one name and announce the winner on this post 12/18/15. And stick around, because we’ll have another couple of holiday giveaways  in the Café through the end of the year. In the meantime, stop by the Freebies & Fun page and get ready for a new website launch at (Dec. 18th) — we’ll keep you up-to-date on the active #Giveaways we have running all the time!

  1. My husband and I had our first date the week before Christmas, so I always remember that this time of year!

  2. My “Mamaw” always had the grandkids sit around the table and read from Luke chapter 2 around Christmastime so we wouldn’t forget the true meaning of the season. I did the same with my children. 🙂

  3. This time of year I remember past Christmases with family. It is those times and people that have made the greatest impact on my life. I wouldn’t be who I am today without them!

    1. Hi Kathryn! We drew names and you’re the winner of Andrea’s book! Kindly email your street address to: kcambronauthor(at)gmail(dot)com and we’ll ensure you get your book. Merry Christmas!

  4. My grandmother we called her Me Me. She was the best grandmother around. We lived beside her all our lives. She made the best cookies around Christmas time. She passed away 26 years ago and I along with my husband and our 2 children now grown and on their own live in her house for 25 years now. So I can live all these memories everyday because I’m here where they all happened. Merry Christmas!

    1. My Grandma made the best cookies too! I miss sitting in the kitchen with a plate of them, drinking a glass of milk and talking with her. She always made everything beautiful at Christmas. Stay warm in your memories, my friend! Thanks for sharing.
