On Dreams

Look out, dear friends, on this lovely Friday — look out and DREAM BIG.

This photo was snapped by a friend a couple of years ago. I was waiting for a dinner meeting and was caught unaware… dreaming of becoming an author again. I post it from time to time because it’s a reminder to me that we have this one chance.

One life…

One opportunity to answer the call God has placed on our hearts…

Friends — NOTHING is too big for Him.

No dream is too lofty. No calling irrelevant or impossible. No path too risky if He’s leading the charge.

I told a friend yesterday (who confided her big, scary, God-sized dreams to me) — “Dream BIG!” I shouted back. “Don’t ask me if you should go after this… I’m a dreamer. I’m going to to tell you to jump — every. single. time. To RISK. To be scared right out of your socks. Just go do it, Sister! Follow Him with your EVERYTHING and see what God does with that!

And for every friend who asks me this, for every aspiring author or writer or dreamer who crosses my path… I will say the same thing:

Find the need out there and FILL IT!

Find the place He’s called you to serve and dig your hands in that dirt.

Love. Give. DREAM! Don’t be content with your inner discontent. Listen to that calling on your life and GO CHASE IT!!!!  ‪#‎dreamBIG‬‪#‎Friday‬ ‪#‎author‬ ‪#‎Dontgiveup‬ ‪#‎breathelife‬ ‪#‎dreams‬

  1. Just what I needed as I prepare for my week ahead. “Jump. Every. Single. Time….” “Scared right out of my socks…” YEP…that is me! Not sure where the words are going to come from, but I am committed to finish my novel by August. YIKES! What is that song by Toby MAc…”Way Beyond me….” WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY beyond me!!! Blessings to you.

  2. It is amazing to me that I can pop by two days after this post and it is just what I needed to read. Thank you Kristy. You are a treasure.

    1. Guess what? Two days after this post, I really needed the encouragement too. Believe it or not. 🙂 I’m very grateful for your comment today, Kelly. I’m wrapping you in a virtual hug right now!

    1. Yes, Brit. We need it sometimes. And I can’t tell you how many times God’s placed someone in my life to speak truth like this in my journey. Keep going! 🙂 (P.S. I saw you popped up on my social media sites and am grateful for the follow. I’ll follow back – look forward to getting to know ya!) ❤

  3. I’m dreaming big, about my novel release next year and connecting with you at ACFW, as well as other am-I-ready-to-lay-this-down conversations with God 🙂 We’ve got another connection too–I work with Splickety Publishing Group and just saw you’re our Featured Author in September. Yay!

    1. Hi Lindsey ~ You’re going to ACFW? Let’s meet up! I will be there for sure. I’m always in the first-timers session too, so I know that’s on my schedule. And I didn’t know I was to be featured for Sept., so I’m totally jazzed by that! 🙂 Congrats on the novel release and let’s find some time to meet up. Hugs!

  4. Needed to hear this today. Feeling discouraged: by social media expectations, by word count, but all the sense of not deserving to be published. I know, Satanic attempt. Prayers appreciated, Kristy.

    1. That’s when you turn social media off (I go to a coffee shop and don’t sign in to their WiFi), and steal away time to create with God. If you’re a writer, He’s put it on your heart. That means nothing can (or should) be able to take it away. Social media, word count, our expectations… they take a BACK SEAT to just going out there and creating something beautiful with Him. Fall in love with writing again; forget the rest for today. Sending you hugs across the miles! ❤
