Wednesday Wisdom – Dwell

“I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;
For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

—Psalm 4:8 (NKJV)

There’s a peace and calm in owning a place of safety. (It makes me think of Dorothy’s famous line: “There’s no place like home! There’s no place like home!”) We don’t just visit our safe place for a while. We don’t stop by, then move on. Instead, we sleep. Stay. Rest and recharge. We move in — and dwell — and make then place our haven. It’s a beloved home. There we can be our authentic selves. There, we’re content.

I don’t know about you, but a mid-week reminder that we have a dwelling place in Christ brings me peace to carry my busy-busy heart on into the weekend.

You too? ❤  #Wednesdaywisdom #breathelife  #versemapping  #dwell

  1. oh Kristy, how this resonates with me!!! my word for 2016 is ‘inhabit’! methinks dwell and abide go hand in hand with it!
    ps, Father gave me a visual of ‘my castle’ and it’s an actual place! Dunnottar Castle in Scotland! i jumped out of my skin when i saw an image of it online!
    thank you for sharing today’s post, we are indeed home in Him, wherever that might be!
