“For you shall go out with joy,
And be led out with peace;
The mountains and the hills
Shall break forth into singing before you,
And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
—Isaiah 55:12 (NKJV)
In just 1 week, the Christian fiction world will converge in a magical place called Nashville, at the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) annual conference. (Okay, it’s magical to us!)
Five years. That’s how long it’s been since I attended my first ever writing conference. And though I was as green as one of the Indiana farms surrounding our home, I still hopped on a plane to give this dream-of-my-soul a go. And did it ever… GO. I left this conference with unimaginable joy. I was spiritually fed, ready to work hard, encouraged to get out there and live this dream.
And now? Five years later? The wheels are still turning — taking me places I never could have anticipated. Rolling through a few valleys. Wheels turning along tender moments with my Savior. And with new experiences (more dreams!) just around the bend, I find that I want to keep going.
As we roll through another busy mid-week schedule, can we take a moment to rest and refocus? Look at our roads and ask: “Where is God leading me?” Are you wheeling towards your heart’s calling? Because this is it. This is the time! This is YOUR chance to hop on a new ride (or plane, if needed), and start rolling through the life He’s got planned for you.
Go out. GO! Find your peace in a life lived with reckless love for Him. 😉
