“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” —1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
You’ll have to forgive me this month. I’ll be in a constant state of rejoicing because — AUTUMN IS HERE!
September kicks off a magical month of football, hayrides and laughter, pumpkin-flavored everything, cooling temps and cozy sweaters, bonfires, riding boots, writing on back porches as leaves color the sky… This time of year never fails to cheer me. Though my schedule can get packed, I’m reminded of a looming anniversary in October (when my Dad went home to be with the Lord), and deadlines seem to be on a downward slope of approaching — I just can’t overlook this deep feeling to rejoice!
I’m thankful — even in the busy, this mid-week. I’m grateful for warm memories of the last days spent with my dad, though they sometimes come as bittersweet and he missed my birthday again this year. And as the holiday season of harvest draws closer, I want to stand with the kid in this pic — to lift my arms, shout for joy, and just let it all go because we are immeasurably blessed in all things. God makes sure of that, no mater what.
I’m praying for you today, Rejoicers!
