As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
—Psalm 103:15 (NKJV)
It’s February, so flowers probably aren’t sprouting up in our window boxes just yet. But that’s what I love about this verse… there’s the promise of flowers that will bloom. We haven’t seen their brilliance, but we know it’s coming. In deep hues, stunning views, and the perfume of beauty.
Isn’t that so like God’s presence in our lives, to walk with us on the journey, even when we don’t see the blooms yet? We may have gray skies right now. Depending upon where you live, it might still be snowing outside your window. (Hello, Indiana!) But there’s no less promise in the goodness to come just because we can’t see it yet.
We know the seasons will turn.
We KNOW Spring is coming.
We know this is the time nature is working, thriving in spite of the cold, and preparing to flourish as soon as the snow melts.
Remember — wherever you are today, He’s making plans for you. For YOU! He’s planned deep hues, stunning views, and a future perfumed with the beauty of His promises. Because whatever you’re walking through today, He knows. He cares. He sees and He makes certain that the days of flourishing will come.
Take heart… beauty will break through.
Flourishing with you,
